Bidding FAQs
What are the requirements for submitting a bid?
To be considered for future bid opportunities, please use the Prequalify button found on the Let’s Work Together page. You will be asked to complete an account setup. Once completed, click the Submit button. You will receive an email communication from McCall Wood via Smartbidnet.com. Please note that if you do not receive the email, be sure to check your spam/junk folder. Within that email, select the green button entitled Click Here to Respond. You will then be directed to complete the prequalification form. You will not be able to receive invitations to bid until the prequalification has been completed.
Who should I send my proposal to?
Each invitation to bid has the contact information of the estimator who is accepting bids on that project.
We appreciate you confirming your intent to bid when you receive the invitation. Please email your proposal before the due date and time to that estimator.
What do you look for in a qualified subcontractor?
Factors such as a complete scope of work, available manpower, work history, references, financial solvency, and bonding capacity are reviewed.
Where do I find bidding opportunities for your company?
Once we receive your company information, we will enter you into our SmartBid database. After which, you will receive invitations to bid for your scope of work(s) in the areas you work. You may also use our website to view projects that are currently bidding. Through the company website, you can check on what projects have been awarded to R&O or are still awaiting results. To view this information, create a user account under Bid on a Project. *This is a separate system from our database.
What are your safety requirements?
Compliance with R&O’s safety plan, job site safety requirements, applicable OSHA, and other governmental safety rules and regulations and owner-imposed safety requirements. If your company is awarded a project, we will need a copy of your standard company safety plan or manual to keep on file. The following trades require a project-specific Site Safety Plan:
-Steel Erection
-Any trade/scope with shoring, bracing (masonry, concrete tilt panels) or using cranes for work over 12’
