Project Briefing

R&O was selected as the contractor for the new 106,971 sf Silver Ridge Elementary School. The new facility is a five-section school, meaning they are able to hold five classes for each grade level. The building is divided by grade level into pods of five classrooms. Each pod is connected via sliding glass doors that can be opened to create one large collaborative space for the grade level. The school also has an additional one-story section of five classrooms for special education, increasing capacity by approximately 75 students.

The two-story prototype is constructed of structural steel with extensive glazing that provides natural light in every classroom and hallway. The main commons feature a learning stair for multiple classes to gather for instruction. Spread throughout the school, imagination station nooks create a fun place for students to study and think. A dedicated STEM lab, maker space and resource rooms support 21st Century learning activities.
