Wasatch Elementary School Addition & Remodel

Ogden, Utah
Wasatch Elementary School Addition & Remodel

Project Briefing

The two-story, 18,900 sf addition provides “maker spaces” for students to build and create and is equipped with learning studios that house flexible furnishings and wall configurations. The 30,000 sf interior remodel of the existing building provide open and collaborative learning spaces that not only meet the growing enrollment, but also afford new types of progressive learning environments for students, teachers and staff.

A main feature of the school is the use of insulated concrete forms, the second K-12 school built in Utah with this building envelope. ICF’s efficient use of both energy and labor saved time and maximized budgets—all while increasing the safety of the project. Beyond that, the ICF walls stand up to a wide variety of challenges by being quieter for students and staff, earthquake resistant, fireproof and mold resistant.
